Functions of the defunct Bauchi State Investment Promotion Agency (BASIPA) as subsumed into The Bauchi Investment Corporation Limited

• Encourage, promote, coordinate and support investment activities in Bauchi State.
• Facilitate registration of enterprises / industries that will be established in Bauchi state.
• Investment Dept shall on application, within 14 days registered all joint ventures or wholly own foreign enterprises and will keep record of such businesses in Bauchi state.
• Provision of support services to existing and potential investors within Bauchi State.
• Collation, analysis, and dissemination of investment opportunities, sources of investment capital and advise on request, the availability, choice or suitability of partners in any joint venture projects.
• Maintaining liaison between Investors and Ministries, Government department and Agencies, Institutional lenders and other authorities concerned with investment activities.
• Identification and nurturing of specific project(s) and inviting interested Investors for participation in those projects.
• Provision and dissemination of up-to-date information on Bauchi State Government’s incentives available to investors.
• For the purpose of promoting identified, strategic or major investments, BIC shall, in consultation with appropriate government agencies, negotiate specific incentive package for investors coming into Bauchi State.
• BIC may issue guideline and procedures with specific priority areas of investment and prescribe applicable incentives and benefits consistent with Bauchi State Government policy.
• BIC shall advice Bauchi State Government on policy matter including fiscal measures in order to encourage deserving industries for a particular sector of the State economy.
• Investment Promotion and monitoring activities: - BIC will initiate, organize and participate in promotional activities, such as exhibitions, conferences and seminars for the stimulation of investments in Bauchi State.
• Through its Corporate Services Department, BIC will identify problems and difficulties being encountered by existing investors and proffer viable solutions and render necessary assistance to them.
